Homeschool Indoor climbing Group


RCF caters to all ages and abilities, providing education and personal development through indoor rock climbing specifically for home educated students and their families.

This program includes full RCF membership and 1x weekly coaching by Rock Climb Fairfield instructors. Instructors will lead coached sessions with an alternating weekly focus on climbing skills and technique lessons that are educational and will help young climbers progress in the sport.

Recurring Lesson Plans

RCF coaches have prepared a weekly lesson plan that instructs students in the basics of climbing technique, knots, belay skills and risk management. Each coached lesson begins with a brief warm up and dynamic stretching protocol, followed by the lesson of the week and plenty of coached climbing practice. Lessons recur on a roughly 6 week rotating schedule.

Lessons include:

  • Handholds, grip types, upper body technique

  • Footwork, quiet - accurate feet

  • Center of mass and improving balance on the wall

  • Knots for climbing

  • Bouldering, steep terrain skills
