Join RCF during our Connecticut Ice Fest 2017 for a slideshow by Anne Parmenter, an accomplished guide and mountaineer.

Anne will show photos of her multiple trips to Nepal and Mt Everest including her successful summit bit on the tallest mountain in the world in 2006.

About Anne:

A native of the UK, Parmenter was first exposed to the outdoors with school trips to the Lake District and North Wales. With a Physical Education degree, she started taking groups to the mountains after successfully completing the British Mountain Leadership Certification through the British Mountaineer Council.

Anne came to the US in 1984 to begin a graduate assistantship at the University of Massachusetts. Parmenter currently works as the head field hockey and assistant lacrosse coach at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, where she has been since 2000.

She has climbed Aconcagua in Argentina twice (once as an assistant guide) Denali, Cotapaxi, Chimborazo, Mount Blanc, Ama Dablam, Mt Rainier and two expeditions to Mount Everest in 2004, successfully summiting in 2006.

Anne works as a mountain guide for Eastern Mountain Sports and Exum Mountain Guides in Jackson Hole WY. She is an AMGA certified Rock Instructor and has completed the Alpine guides course through the AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association).

Anne is also an avid runner and has completed 13 marathons. London, New York, Hartford, trail marathons, four Boston marathons the last in 2014 inspired to run following the bombings in 2013.


Anne will also be teaching a clinic "Women's Rock Climbing Technique" during the ice fest.
